JOB TITLE:                     Lead Academy Scout

REPORTING LINE:        Head of Academy Recruitment

DEPARTMENT:             Academy

LOCATIONS:                 Various

SALARY:                         £4,800 p/a (Pro Rata)

CONTRACT:                  Part-Time - 10 month seasonal contract

 

ROLE:

The role of the Lead Academy Scout is responsible for identifying players within the grassroots game (U7 – U16) that possess the potential for academy registration.

TASKS:

  • Attend and assess individual players within grassroots football in line with the Academy Player Recruitment framework.
  • Submit reports to the Head of Academy Recruitment.
  • Communicate player tips to Head of Academy Recruitment.
  • Action the strategic plan to enhance the quality of academy players across schoolboy age groups

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide Head of Academy Recruitment with talented player recommendations.
  • Keep up to date with player movements and developments within designated area.
  • Adhere to governing body scouting protocols.
  • To ensure all fixtures and players viewed are reported and documented as required by the club.
  • To effectively increase the number of players viewed in the recruitment area.
  • To attend CPD, talent ID days and trial matches to enable prospective players to be observed, at the request of the Head of Academy Recruitment.
  • To adhere to the Scouts protocol in the recruitment of all players to ensure the good name of the Club is promoted and not seen as a threat to the local league clubs.
  • To continually seek to improve the standard of player within the Academy in all age groups.
  • To undertake any reasonable Club requirements as set out by the Football Clubs Senior Management Team
  • Be responsible and accountable for safeguarding at all times

Qualifications

  • FA Level 2 Talent ID
  • FA Child Safeguarding
  • Full Enhanced DBS
